Terms of use
Last updated: 11 October 2026
These terms apply to the LottaLang app and website (the "service"), operated by [legal name of the operator] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.
Your account
- You need an account to use the app. Give a valid email address and keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for using online services without parental consent in your country if that is higher.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the account deletion page.
What you add
- The texts and subtitle files you add stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you; they are private to your account.
- Only add content you have the right to use. Subtitles and texts are often protected by copyright: use LottaLang for your own personal study, and do not use it to copy or distribute other people's work.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break or overload it, to access other people's accounts or data, to get around its limits, or to use it for anything illegal. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
Learning content
Dictionary entries, readings, levels and other learning content come from reference sources (including CC-CEDICT and the HSK and TOCFL word lists) and automatic analysis. They are provided to help you learn and may contain mistakes; they are not professional translation or advice.
The service
- LottaLang is free to use today. Features marked "coming soon" are not available yet; if paid features are introduced, their price and terms will be shown before you buy anything.
- We work to keep the service available and your data safe, but we provide it "as is", without guarantees that it will always be available or error-free.
- We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice where possible.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the service afterwards, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [country or state], without affecting any mandatory consumer protection that applies where you live.
